Frequently Asked Questions

In order to use a Code+Confetti theme, you must have the following:

  1. A domain name (ie. mywebsite.com purchased through a domain registrar)
  2. Website Hosting (I recommend Siteground)
  3. A fresh WordPress install via Wordpress.org. This means you have installed the FREE WordPress software on your domain name through your hosting provider. (How to Install Wordpress in Siteground)

*These website templates WILL NOT work with Wordpress.com blogs

Before you install your Code+Confetti theme, you need to have WordPress software installed on your domain.

Most hosting providers have a one-click install option for adding Wordpress software to your website, so if you don't know what you're doing - check with them first. They may even install WordPress for you - it never hurts to ask! Be wary of extra plugins that come with your install, many of which can slow your website down (Bluehost is notorious for this).

If you want to see how easy it is to install Wordpress with Siteground, you can watch the tutorial here. It's only 3 minutes!

Yes, these themes are built on Kadence (a free framework for Wordpress) and are compatible with WooCommerce. However, WooCommerce does not come installed on the themes.

Technically, yes. However, I DO NOT RECOMMEND Bluehost.

Bluehost has a robust affiliate program and is recommended by many bloggers, but it's hot garbage in terms of hosting, customer service, server reliability, and site speed. Don't do it to yourself.

Instead, I personally use (for 10+ years) and recommend Siteground. The entry level price is similar to Bluehost and increases after one year. It's relatively cheap compared to many hosting providers, and well worth the money. They have excellent resources & documentation, excellent customer service, reliable servers with good speed, and an easy-to-use interface. With hosting, you get what you pay for.

Absolutely! My goal in building these themes is to offer as many features as possible, but not every person needs every feature.

All Code+Confetti themes are 100% customizable. When you install the theme, it will look exactly like the demo site. From there, you can customize all fonts, colors, and content. If you don't want a particular section, you can simply delete it from the page with the click of a button.

I think so! I have done everything within my power to make installing and editing your theme easy.

However, if you are new to blogging or Wordpress, there may be a learning curve. That's why I've made video tutorials showing you how to install and customize your theme. My clients rave about them!

Your theme & demo content shouldn't take long to install - usually less than a minute. It can take longer depending on your hosting provider, so give it at least 10 minutes.

The most common errors I see are 500 errors, which are due to your server timing out. This is an issue with your hosting provider. Their servers may be overloaded or may have run out of disk space.

How to troubleshoot:

  1. The first step is to try the install again.

  2. If installation continues to fail, disable all plugins that aren't related to Kadence and then try the install again.

  3. Finally, contact your hosting provider and ask them to disable any CDNs (such as Cloudflare) and increase your memory limit to at least 512M. Ask your hosting provider to ensure that you are using the latest version of PHP. Then try the installation again!

  4. In rare cases I have seen hosting providers (Bluehost) fail to correct server-side errors, which mean the theme can't be installed. I would cancel that service immediately, ask for a refund, and sign up with a better hosting provider. Hosting is a "you get what you pay for" situation. A good rule of thumb is to use the best hosting provider you can afford. I both use and highly recommend Siteground!
